Statement
Design, for me, is about creating objects and experiences that feel both functional and emotionally considered. My approach is heavily informed by architecture — particularly the way architecture balances form, material, atmosphere and human interaction within a single system. That way of thinking has shaped how I approach everything from furniture and objects to branding and digital experiences.
A large part of this practice exists through Liquorice Locker, my multidisciplinary design studio focused on contemporary objects, furniture and vinyl culture. Through Liquorice Locker, I've explored the relationship between music, spatial design and minimalism, creating pieces that aim to feel timeless, sculptural and architecturally informed.
Much of the work draws inspiration from modernist architecture, gallery spaces and industrial design principles — focusing on proportion, materiality and simplicity. I'm particularly interested in designing objects that integrate naturally into a space while still carrying a strong visual identity. Whether working with timber, acrylic or steel, I'm drawn to honest materials and refined forms that emphasise clarity and restraint.
Architecture continues to influence the way I think about design at every scale. It has taught me to consider not only how something looks, but how it exists within an environment, how it's experienced physically and emotionally, and how small details contribute to a larger narrative. Through design, I'm interested in creating work that feels enduring, thoughtful and culturally connected.
